Dear Friends,
I struggled with the thought of sharing this video todaybecause it is truly a sad story, but then I received the second video below,and it is so encouraging - a true answer to the prayer of Pastor Malijo Edward!Both stories had to be told on this Mother's Day, 2021.
It is the mother who teaches the children, who loves themall day long, and instills in them what it means to be an individual. Here inUganda, it is often the woman who leads the household in finding/providingresources to keep the family strong (though this is changing as the gospelcontinues to reach and change our family structure). This is one reason we areso proud of the progress we are making at Nana Health Center. We have lost somany mommas in and around Bulike and Buluya, but with your help, we are alsochanging this statistic.
We all need Mothers to be healthy and strong, that is why we opened the Nana Health Center Maternity Ward.
We need our mothers, and we are investing in the women ofUganda through our Women's Empowerment Ministry. As you gather to celebrate thestrong women in your family this weekend, we celebrate with you. Thank you toall the mothers who have stepped up and done what was necessary for thewell-being of the family.
In closing, let me also say Happy Mother's Day to all the motherswho have stood by this ministry for so long. Thank you for praying for us. Ifeel your prayers, and UCSS would not be what it is today without you.
