A Message from Ronah

"We will not give up!"

Dear Ronald,

I am so excited to bring you greetings and this week’s update from Uganda! We just spent the month of June in prayer and fasting while Dr. Ronald was in the States, and the word that has been on my heart is resilience:

the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties: toughness.

There was a time when this word, this concept, did not existin the minds of the people here in Bulike and Buluya because it is hard torecover from anything when there is no hope. Thanks to friends like you, however, UCSS is providing hope through evangelism, hope through fresh water, hope through medical treatment, hope through education – hope for the future.

I’m not sure if you are aware, but we are under another waveof lockdowns, and we are faced with even more difficult situations, but insteadof giving up, the people are being resilient! These new restrictions mean twopastors cannot share a motorbike as we have been doing, so they are walking! Our teachers are walking! Children are sitting at home, wondering if there is anyhope, and here comes their teacher, sweating, bringing them what they need tosucceed. Families are wondering where to turn, and here comes a pastor, walking, bringing prayers of hope! Nothing will stop us!

What you are helping us do is provide opportunity:opportunity for our youth who are driving change for the future. Lives arebeing changed in the midst of hardship. Even though they are not in school, they can still learn life skills like tailoring and farming. So, during theselockdowns, in a nutshell – hope! With your help we will continue training andleading leaders who know how to overcome through faith in Jesus Christ.

In closing, 10 years in God, 10 years of ministering to thefamilies here in Bulike and Buluya; 10 years of development and enlightenment, and the transformation is real. This is only possible with your continuedprayers and support. Philippians 4:13 tells us that we are able to do allthings through Him who strengthens us.

I would love to hear from you this month and how you mightjoin with us in bringing hope to our various ministries, strengthening thisresilience going forward. It is a joy serving with you. Thank you so much forbeing here.

Your Sister in Christ,

Ronah
