There is a riddle: If a tree falls in the woods with no one around to hear it, does it make a sound? While this saying has amused philosophers and intellectuals for centuries, whether one hears it or not, the effect of the loss of trees has been anything but amusing in Bulike, Uganda. Because people have cut down the trees for money, it has adversely affected the soil and growth of our crops.
As you can see in the video, your generous support and love for UCSS is helping turn this situation around, and we have planted thousands of trees with your help. By God’s grace, you are the root of UCSS, extending your heart to the people of Bulike and Buluya, and because of you they are learning not to fear tomorrow but rather to put their trust in Lord. As the scripture says:
“For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:8)
Thank you for the difference you have helped make possible. Please make the commitment today to help us continue to improve the lives of the people in Bulike and Buluya as we help them grow, not only trees and crops, but also grow in their faith and love of Jesus Christ. Become a UCSS Lifer today with your monthly donation of any amount. May God’s favor be continually upon you and your family.
