Evangelism

Here’s an update on our Evangelism Ministry.

The evangelism programme has continued to thrive, with 4 churches – Bulike, Bukobo, Nabisiki and Inuula Community Churches – now fully established. A fifth church will be launched at Idoome in November 2015. Collaboration with the other churches in the area has also continued and achieved noteworthy results, as recorded in the table below. We have evangelised through various programmes including; Bible Study Groups, Churches, Seminars, Bible Distribution, Door-to-Door evangelism, Crusades, Leadership trainings, Christian Film shows, Youth Ministry, Pastors Fellowships etc.

Here’s an overview of achievements in 2015, challenges, and plans for this year.

Achievements

  • The Evangelism programs include; 21 Bible Study groups, 4 Churches, Evangelical Crusades, Leaders’ Training, Bible Distribution, Baptism, Door-to-Door, Bible College, Intercession Prayers, Christian Film Shows, Seminars, Missionaries, Youth Groups and Pastors’ Fellowships.
  • Youth Group: Emphasis has been put on empowering the youth this year. Youth seminars are conducted every Saturday with an average attendance of 40 youth in each of the 3 groups. As a result, they have developed spiritually and more involved in ministry. They move to other churches and communities encouraging other youth by ministering in music and drama.
  • A Christian leadership class is conducted every other week to train pastors and leaders on matters about leadership and theology.
  • Churches continued to conduct church services, Bukobo church got a tin roof, Nabisiki church was roofed on a temporary structure, Innula church is under construction and the permanent block is almost finished, Bulike church is laying out its permanent location. We continued to collaborate with 11 other churches around Bulike and its surrounding areas. These collaborations enabled us to extend programmes, such as leadership classes, agriculture skill training, and community sensitization, among others.
  • The door to door evangelism continued this year. We registered salvation of 600 souls and encouraged re-commitment of those who had been discouraged.
  • We have been able to conduct 24 christian evangelical film shows and witnessed about 200 people giving their lives to Christ.
  • We conducted two mega crusades by U.S. mission teams in February and in June, 2015 where we witnessed 678 people come to Christ.
  • We have held seminars for the youths, leaders and marrieds. The seminar for the married was significant because many issues were addressed and many couples are considering renewing their vows in holy matrimony. UCSS plans to organise this mass event, registration of couples who are interested is ongoing.
  • Children’s sunday school ministry is still going on and about 250 children are being ministered to every Sunday at the 4 UCSS churches as well as the other 11 partner churches.

Challenges

  • Inadequate and poor state of church & Bible-study structures
  • Inadequate transportation means for the ministry staff & volunteers to the different programs.i.e some of them come from long distances.
  • Few Bibles for large and increasing numbers.
  • Irregular attendance  of members for fellowships and bible study meetings
  • Illiteracy among the congregation and the leaders affecting bible teachings and interpretation.
  • Some youth still lack enthusiasm and patience.
  • Community contributions are not guaranteed and when they come  they are not in a timely manner.

Future Plans

  • An evangelical crusade with team from the US, has been scheduled in December 2015.
  • Mass wedding will be held in December, 2015.
  • Facilitate the construction of a permanent structures for the churches.
  • Wean off the Bulike project and regularly follow up to ensure continuity of programmes thereafter.
  • Availing more bibles to the community.
  • Start new churches and develop partnerships with existing churches in the new project area.
  • Send more leaders of the community for bible college training.

If God is moving you to support this ministry, there are three things you can do now:

Thank you for all of your prayers and support!

Blessings,
